fascinating great DIY accessories
Besides earrings, I love accessories in general: Glasses, necklaces, finger rings and watches, handbags, wrist warmers, scarves and hats.... and I love these scarves decorated by me!
In this post, I'll tell you how I designed them and how you too can create beautiful silk scarves with your own hands that you can wear as a scarf, headscarf, belt or special accessory.
To complete this project, you will need
white silk scarf (90x90cm)
Frame for silk painting, depending on the frame, possibly trident pins
colorless contour gutta
Sublimation pencil to draw the pattern in advance
Worn as a scarf, you can vary the color coordination wonderfully, depending on which corner you tie to the front.
First, the silk cloth is stretched over a frame of the appropriate size. Depending on the size, trident pins may be useful for fastening. The patterns are initially drawn "freehand" with a pen. The color of the pen on the cloth disappears by itself after a certain number of hours. It is therefore advisable to trace the lines with colorless contour gutta before this happens (the dots of the dotted fields are also painted with gutta). This must then dry for at least 24 hours. All color combinations are possible when painting the areas with liquid silk paint. Personally, I like tone-on-tone best. I particularly enjoy the color gradients within a field. Once the paint has dried well and then ironed in, the cloths can be washed by hand, whereby the gutta dissolves and washes out, leaving no raised areas and simply fine white lines at the borders of the colored areas.
I opted for this geometric pattern mix, but of course there are no limits to what you can draw or write on the silk. You can color and paint them according to your taste and preferences.
It's great fun to design the patterns, color in the areas and of course - to wear the scarves :-) This is a project that can also be realized well with children due to its simplicity and potential for creative play.
What do you think of it? It would be a pleasure to talk to you about this and many other things and to read your opinion. Feel free to contact me. I would be honored if you would consider me a kind of pen pal with whom you would enjoy exchanging thoughts, ideas, experiences and emotions. If you enjoyed this post or any of the others, I'd be happy for you to share it with those you think would be interested or could benefit from it. What are you waiting for? A hug and see you soon!
